Understand The Golf Swing
For the longest time everyone in golf has been taught in one form or another that the club head will travel in a circle around the body. So the question is, why is it so difficult for the average golfer to produce the movements necessary to allow the club head to travel in this mystical illusive shot making pattern? Heck, it’s a circle. What our research has uncovered might help you, along with millions of other golfers, in understanding why it has been so difficult for the longest time.
If I was to ask you to sit down, grab a piece of paper and a pen and with the use of no tools (freehand) to draw a perfect circle; I think what you will experience will absolutely surprise you. The first time you draw it you might say, “Wait a second, it’s a basic shape how come it’s not perfect”? On the second and third attempt you will be asking yourself the same question as before. However, what will continue to happen time and time again; no matter how hard you try, is that you will not be able to do it. The truth is there are only a hand full of people in the entire world that can do this, so don’t let it bother you.
Now, if I was to ask you to take the same piece of paper and pen and draw a straight line the results you will experience are going to be quite different. This task may only take you a couple of times to do it; however, eventually you will be able to make it perfect.
You need to understand this is not some parlor trick; it is just how the mind works. The mind has a difficult time with curves and not with straight lines. By understanding this, it is going to help you and millions of other golfers get better results in your golf swings. This is the starting point; the alpha, the first process in retraining your mind to decipher the labyrinth of confusion which has been surrounding the golf swing for centuries.
Understand The Plane
Now, let’s discuss for a moment how the plane of the golf swing is explained by other teaching professionals in the world today. Hank Haney’s plane finder would be a great place to start. What needs to be understood first and foremost is that a plane is flat and is not circular in its shape at all. However, what they are trying to convince you of is that the plane of the swing is rounded somehow and if you just don’t hit the help guides used in this product then you are going to be able to secretly be able to find the real plane of your golf swing. Oh yeah, this will be all done by feel and will not take any additional instruction except for the accompanying DVD provided for you on their part. Don’t you just wish for once that someone would just come out and tell you how it is all supposed to work instead of providing you with another gimmick to help you improve?
Let’s get back to our circles and lines for a moment. When you are able to finally understand that the golf swing is geometric in origin then all the straight lines start to make sense. I will explain this using an example of a watch. If you were to look at your watch (the face) and for this demonstration we will assume it is round in shape; you will start to see how it is the points of certain lines that actually create the circular shape itself from the inside out and not the outside in.
Sense a watch allows us to see the center (point in which the hands rotate around) it is easy to locate where its center is. In the golf swing this would be known as your center of mass. Anyways, if you where to draw a straight line from center to 1 O’clock the line would present itself as a perfect 60 degree angle, every time without fail. Now, if you were to draw a line from 1 O’clock to 3 O’clock this would also be a 60 degree line. And if you went from 3 O’clock to 5 O’clock this would also be a 60 degree line. If you went from 5 O’clock to 7 O’clock this line will show itself as zero degrees as it is flat across the base (horizontal). Now continue from 7 O’clock to 9 O’clock, again a perfect 60 degree angle and from 9 O’clock to 11 O’clock, another 60. Then close the path with a line going from 11 O’clock to 1 O’clock. This line with also represent at zero degrees as it is the top base line (horizontal).
Now, if you were to make 3 distinct lines; first one from center to 11 O’clock, the second from center to 7 O’clock and the last from center to 3 O’clock what you will be looking at is a perfect 60 degree cube. This is only half of the piece of the puzzle. The other half shows itself when you go from 12 O’clock to 2 O’clock, a perfect 30 degree line. When you go from 2 O’clock to 4 O’clock, this line will represent zero degrees on the vertical path. From 4 O’clock to 6 O’clock again will be a perfect 30 degrees. When you travel from 6 O’clock to 8 O’clock this line will also be a perfect 30 degrees. As you continue from 8 O’clock to 10 O’clock this line will represent zero degrees on the vertical (other side). Then close the path by connecting 10 O’clock to 12 O’clock, another perfect 30 degree angle.
Now just as we did before we must make 3 more distinct lines; the first one needs to be from center to 2 O’clock, the second needs to be from center to 10 O’clock (both of these are 30 degree lines) and the last needs to be from center to 6 O’clock. What you are now going to be looking at is a perfect representation of a 30 degree cube.
See Both Cubes
So now when we are able to see both cubes at the same time, on top of each other, we are able to see for the first time ever how it is the points in which the lines connect (the numbers) that actually allow the perfect circle to form. It is these lines from both cubes that allow us to understand the real 90 degree angles in geometric space. It is simple if you think about it 60 plus 30 equals 90.
Now that we have outlined the geometric blueprint and you can really see it and understand that the circle is formed from the inside out and not the outside in; make sure to join us next time to understand how we work and perform inside this amazing geometrical space. The topics we will be discussing over the next several and up coming weeks are going to be covering everything from the anatomical movements necessary to have a “World Class” golf swing, to the explosive power of how to use your levers correctly to improve your accuracy and power. The world has never experienced the real hidden power that our own geometric space provides. Get ready for amazing results, personal improvement and the best golf swing you could ever make in your life. This is going to be the most precise learning experience you could ever be a part of so make sure to join us a regular basis.
